Wadworths plan gem of a party
Devizes brewer Wadworth & Co is offering a right royal knees-up on June 2 to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
It is organising a beer festival at the Northgate Brewery from noon to 9pm with live bands, food stalls and some of the tastiest ales in the country.
Wadworth’s own brews will be on offer, including its Queen’s Jubilee Ale – which has been produced in a limited edition of 1,200 bottles – and their Red, White and Brew, samples of which were on offer in the Devizes tent at the diamond jubilee event in Salisbury on May 1.
This is the fifth beer festival that Wadworth’s has run and they promise it will be the biggest and best yet. Following the success of last year’s event, the festival has been moved to a bigger space at the back of the brewery, allowing for more visitors in a larger marquee.
Wadworth brand manager Christine Evers said: “The bigger marquee will provide plenty of cover in case of rain. We can all huddle in and keep warm while drinking a great range of beers.
“However, fingers crossed the sun will shine and we will be able to enjoy our ale outside in the fresh air. We are looking forward to toasting the Queen on her special day.”
Tickets will be available from the visitor centre at the brewery, £6 including entry and a pint glass.
