POLICE are appealing for help to catch a man who attempted to burgle a church in Corsham.
CCTV evidence is being examined after a man broke into three collection boxes that were fitted to the church wall of St Patrick's Church in Park Lane on Monday morning.
The Reverend John O'Brien had emptied the boxes the day before the burglary leaving the offender empty handed.
Police are looking for a white man, at about 5ft 10in with dark untidy hair.
He was seen leaving the church and hanging around the area shortly before the incident at about 10.30am.
Anyone who has information or saw someone acting suspiciously between 10.30-10.45am are advised to contact Pc 744 Pete Clark at Corsham police station on 0845 408 7000.
