I have on many occasions shaken my head in sad reflection at the antics of cycling clubs which use the country lanes around the villages in this area, where they seem to believe the Highway Code doesn’t apply to them. How interesting to read in last week’s paper that businessman Paul Shayegan has done soundproofing works at the old Karma nightclub, which he plans to re-open. Perhaps he would like to explain what soundproofing measures he plans to take for the local residents when the club users turn out onto the streets fuelled with alcohol in the early hours of the morning. What about protection for the local shop owners’ windows? − Mrs Pat Bishop, ChippenhamWho will foot the bill?
