Big ted's day out


Children and adults across the region will be taking their favourite teddies out for the day tomorrow as part of Ted’s Biggest Ever Day Out.

People in Chippenham, Calne and Corsham have been asked to take a teddy to work, school, or just out and about to raise money for the Space to Grow Campaign to pay for a new, larger Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for premature babies at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

All people and organisations have to do is donate a pound to the appeal for taking a teddy out for the day. Some groups and businesses have come up with fundraisng ideas of their own.

1st Kingston St Michael Brownies are having a baby photo competition, picnic and will be bringing teddies to their meeting.

Charter Primary School, in Chippenham is taking part in a teddy bears’ picnic to raise money for NICU, Lodge Farm Nursery is doing a sponsored walk on October 22 and Corsham Primary School is selling big biscuits to raise money.

Many other schools and nurseries are taking part by taking their teddies out with them as well as businesses such as Woolworths in Chippenham, Corsham Computer Centre in Chippenham and Westinghouse Rail Systems in Calne.

To take part all you have to do is pick up a teddy and give the charity a pound.
