Smiling staff greeted customers, who coughed up cash for more than just their groceries, at Tesco Express in Calne.

Children paid to chuck wet sponges at store manager Martin Hussey who got into the stocks.

There was also a competition for the cheeriest picture, a draw, tombola and lucky dip on Tuesday.

Ellena Spanton, 11, Cheyenne Wright, three, and Cerys Britten, seven, all from Calne, won prizes for drawing the three cheeriest pictures.

The Share a Smile day was held to raise money for Fynamore School and Twinkles Twin Club.

Twinkles Twin Club is a support group for mothers with twins or triplets, which lends out baby boosters, prams and buggies.
