Students cheer for their new mini bus

STUDENTS at Springfields School in Calne celebrated the donation of a brand new mini bus.

Essex building company Walkers Construction donated the bus after hearing about the work the specialist Sports College carry out on troubled teens.

Springfields students raised £10,000 for the £32,000 minibus and received the rest of the money from the company directors who were born in Calne.

Headteacher Tristan Williams said: "We pick up children from 19 secondary schools across the whole of Wiltshire for vocational activities and this mini bus will be a huge help.

"It was a privilege to receive the bus as it will not only be helpful to our vocational students but we can take our students to more evening sporting activities.

"We would like to thank everyone involved with the project and we hope to get good use out of it. This is a huge deal for the school."
