| The pirates and princesses with library supervisor Jenny Wilcockson |
Pirates weighed anchor at Calne Library as part of a half term treat for children.
As part of the library's Pirates and Princesses day more than 30 children joined in the fun and dressed up for a host of activities.
Librarians organised a treasure hunt and an interactive story for children.
Pirates and princesses also picked up some popular pirate phrases and commands.
Chief librarian Jessica Phillips said: "It was really exciting and great to see all the children taking part.
"The best part of the day was the interactive story. Children quickly learnt how to obey the pirate orders and they took part in the story.
"In the end we had to run through the story twice because the children enjoyed it so much."
Organisers also crowned the best-dressed pirate and princess from the group.
Ms Phillips said: "It was great to see all the children enjoying themselves at the library in half term."
As well as providing activities for youngsters, staff at the library organised a book signing with romantic novelist Katie Fforde yesterday.
