Wow! Despite my fears about the weather, the event was blessed by the Man Upstairs and seemed to be a big success. We've raised a few more bob which we'll distribute locally.

What an excellent do. And great weather too.

There was an added bonus for me in that the day didn't cost too many Brownie Points. Whilst a few mates stayed on the 49 and continued the session at the British Lion, I had a moment of clarity and went home and showed Mandy a relatively good husband.

For the record, Devizes CAMRA members voted Castle Rock 'Harvest Pale' our Beeer of the Festival. I shall try to get his one for Devizes.

It's the Lions May Fair tomorrow. I hope the weather isn't like it was this afternoon.

Is this new Wetherspoon's booozer ever likely to open? Someone told me that up to a couple of months ago, Wetherspoon's pub finder gave an opening date of April 22nd, 2008. Now there's nothing.

I've heard rumour that the conversion work on the old Beale's shop has caused serious damage to the Crown Centre.

All in all, it's been a right old palaver. The pay-back period for this particular pub is going to last for ever.

They might have dogs on the roll in Swindon but I reckon there's fair few sheep in Devizes.

Seend Beer Festival is taking place this Saturday. If previous years are anything to go by, I can thoroughly recommend it.
