Cancer information unit comes to Wiltshire
12:13pm Wednesday 10th October 2012 in News By Jill Crooks
Macmillan Cancer Support’s mobile unit is coming to Wiltshire.
Staff will be there to give free information to the public about what the charity does or to have a confidential chat.
The mobile unit will be outside the Bear Hotel, Market Place, Devizes, on October 18 from 9.30am to 4.30pm and at The Bridge, Chippenham, on October 19 from 9.30am to 3pm. No appointment is necessary.
Amanda Cummins, Macmillan mobile cancer information and support specialist, said: “As treatments improve more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. They need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support which the mobile team can provide.
“Cancer is the toughest fight many people will ever face. If you have any worries or questions about anything to do with cancer, whether it’s about yourself, a relative or friend, come and talk to our Macmillan information specialists face to face. It’s free and completely confidential.”
Last year the unit visited 85 locations in the south west and the Midlands and welcomed an average of 63 people per day.
