Bishops Canning's children dress as sports legends
10:00am Saturday 13th October 2012 in News
There were Bradley Wiggins, Ayrton Senna and Andy Murray lookalikes aplenty at Bishops Cannings Primary School on Friday.
There were also many footballers among the 185 children who joined the non-uniform day in aid of Bag4Sport.
Together they raised £119 for the charity, which helps children in underprivileged countries to achieve their sporting aims.
Headteacher Catherine Vardy said: “We have a close relationship with Bag4Sport. We regularly supply them with bags filled with unwanted sports clothes and equipment to help young people overseas.
“So when it approached us to see if we would help raise cash by having a non-uniform day, we were happy to co-operate.”
Bag4Sport is the brainchild of Devizes businessman Andy Trusler and it has a network of sports clubs and schools across the country who benefit from cash for new equipment.
