Chippenham pupil scoops gold for contribution to arts trail

After a summer of national sporting success, seven-year-old Max La Bouchardiere, a pupil of Queen’s Crescent School, Chippenham, has been awarded with his own Olympic-themed prize.
Year 3 pupil Max was given a London 2012 goody bag after contributing to the Chippenham Schools’ Olympic Arts Trail.
All 19 schools in the Chippenham area contributed to the trail by creating artworks relating to a country competing in this year’s Games.
The finished results, together with two created by professional artist Imogen Harvey Lewis, were put on display around the town this summer in a trail that people could follow.
Chippenham Museum and Heritage Centre, which organised the event, declared Max the winner from all the entries.
Queen’s Crescent headteacher Julia Hawkins said: “Max was absolutely delighted with his prize.
“He knew he’d won, but I think he hadn’t understood that he was going to be given his goodies at an assembly in front of his friends.”
