Wiltshire Police are warning motorists of delays between RAF Lyneham and the M4 junction 16 early tomorrow.
Four specialised load transporters loaded with sections of a Dakota Aircraft will be escorted by Wiltshire Police from RAF Lyneham to RAF Brize Norton.
The journey will begin at approximately 6.30am where the loads will be transported in convoy from RAF Lyneham along the A3102, into Royal Wootton Bassett, then onto to M4 eastbound at junction 16.
Because of the size of the loads they will have to travel on the opposite side of the carriageway on the High Street in Royal Wootton Bassett, which will cause adelay for other motorists. The load is expect3ed to take just under an hour to reach the motorway.
Due to the size of these transporters they will be slow moving and could cause congestion.
A police spokesman said: "Wherever possible, disruption will be kept to a minimum but motorists are asked to please be patient if they come across these loads.
"Regular updates and travel information in respect of these abnormal loads will be passed from our control room at Devizes when appropriate to help motorists plan their journey."
