Corsham musician drumming up funds

A Corsham man with Parkinson’s disease has published his second book of limericks and poems, with all profits going to charity.

Norman Wall, 76, of Pound Pill, was diagnosed with his condition around five years ago, but he hasn’t let it slow him down.

Three years ago he published his first book, raising £1,000 through sales, with most of the money being donated to Parkinson’s UK and some going to other good causes.

Now he plans to do the same again through the profits made from his new book, There Was An Old Lady.

He said: “I’d done quite a bit of poetry and limericks and then a few people suggested I release a book, which proved to be quite popular.

“Now I’m happy to have completed my second book, which is ideal for those seeking a good laugh and is a little bit naughtier than my first book.”

Mr Wall’s wife, Yvonne, has provided the illustrations for the cover of the book but the rest of the material is the writer’s own work.

He said: “I’m very pleased to be able to produce a new book. It is very good for the ego and my wife tells me I’m a bit of a show-off.”
