Time to nominate your NHS Hero

The Royal United Hospital in Bath is supporting a nationwide NHS staff recognition campaign as part of its 64th anniversary celebrations.

NHS Heroes is a new recognition scheme to honour individuals and teams who go the extra mile to improve life for patients in hospitals, clinics and community care.

Patients, their families and the NHS community have an opportunity to nominate and celebrate the staff members and teams who show exceptional compassion, kindness and skill above and beyond the call of everyday duty – giving healthcare at its very best.

Nominees will be recognised at events across England over the summer and autumn.

James Scott, Chief Executive at the Royal United Hospital, said: "I know that RUH staff at all levels and in all disciplines are extremely dedicated, compassionate professionals who save lives and guide people through illness and injury every day, whether directly as clinicians, or indirectly as support and managerial staff.

"A large proportion of them go above and beyond the call of duty to make the hospital experience a positive one for patients and their families, ensuring the quality and safety of care they provide is the best that it can be. We regularly receive letters of thanks and praise for the care they receive.

"I hope that people will support the campaign and take the time to nominate an NHS Hero, to give staff the recognition they deserve.”

The campaign was launched on July 5 and runs until mid-September.
