VISITORS to a pop-up arts exhibition of work by Pewsey Vale School Year 10 and 11 GCSE students have been delighted by the quality, said Sandra Sargeant, a director at the Community Gallery.

The school, which has become a specialist arts college, held the exhibition on Wednesday and Thursday last week. Students, parents and staff were invited to a preview on Wednesday evening along with local supporters of the gallery.

Pewsey parish councillor Caroline Dalrymple, who is also a school governor, not only went along and praised the students’ paintings and drawings but also bought one to hang in her home.

Coun Dalrymple said: “I thought their work was simply wonderful.”

Head of art Colin Jenkins said: “The gallery has been brilliant, providing a link between the school and the community.”

Mrs Sergeant said a number of visitors had expressed an interest in buying paintings.
