One of the UK’s biggest charity bike rides will pass through Chippenham on August 23, and organisers are looking for participants.
Cycle Britain, which is sponsored by Iceland, supports Alzheimer’s Research UK, with the supermarket hoping to raise more than £1 million with this year’s event.
The event will visit the region on a route that will span 67 miles from Dorchester to Chippenham, on day 13 of Cycle Britain.
To get involved, participants just need a bike and the enthusiasm to cycle about 60 miles – or a half-day route of around 30 miles – and to pledge a fundraising total of £200. Iceland is paying all the costs for the ride, so every penny raised will support the charity. For more information, or to sign up, visit www.cyclebritain.org
