Chance to audition for Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society production
10:00am Sunday 1st July 2012 in News
Pewsey Vale Amateur Dramatic Society is to perform a William Shakespeare play for the first time.
PVADS will stage A Midsummer Night’s Dream, from October 25 to 27, at the Bouverie Hall.
Director Nettie Powell said: “We need actors, backstage, set builders, musicians, dancers, technical teams – so let us know you are interested.”
Auditions are being held on Sunday at 5.30pm in the Bouverie Hall.
Mrs Powell said: “Never done Shakespeare before? Well, neither has PVADS. We are taking on a great challenge in doing A Midsummer Night’s Dream. That’s why we are going to be using both local experts and experienced actors from further afield to take us through some Shakespeare workshops.
“Also, we will be using original scripts but with a modern translation to help our understanding; the performance will be as Shakespeare intended.”
Anyone who would like to take part but cannot get to the first audition can email nettie.powell@bt internet.com or, more information about the play and audition, visit www.pvads.net
