Isabella's winning design
A pupil from St Barnabas Primary School in Market Lavington has won a prestigious national competition to design the ultimate egg cup for the charity Eggs for Soldiers.
Eight-year-old Isabella Paxton took the top prize after her design was chosen from more than 1,500 entries. She wins a Wii console for herself and a uDraw tablet for the school.
Isabella’s creative design features a saluting chicken in an army uniform. Headteacher Jill Hibbs said: “Although we had told Isabella’s parents that she’d won we didn’t tell her so her face was a picture when she realised we were talking about her at the presentation ceremony. She was very shocked.
“She is a very thoughtful girl and her entry reflected that. That’s what made it so special.”
For every khaki green box of six Eggs For Soldiers sold, a donation of 15p goes to Help For Heroes. So far £365,000 has been raised for the cause.
