Dozens of Minis will take to the roads of Wiltshire in convoy at the end of the month to raise money for a Southwick charity.

The Moles Mini Club will host the fifth annual Moonraker Run on April 28-29 to fundraise for the Hope Nature Centre in Southwick, which provides job opportunities for people with learning difficulties.

The Mini enthusiasts will gather at The Three Magpies in Sells Green on the Saturday before embarking on a tour around the county together on the Sunday.

Tim Carter, a founder member of the club, said: "We run it every year at the end of April, just before the start of all the other events that go on.

"On the Saturday afternoon we usually have a trip out, this year to the Hope Centre in Southwick, the charity we’re supporting, and then we have a barbecue and a quiz and camp out.

"On the Sunday we like to go out for a run around, and we try to stay in Wiltshire. This year we’re going down to Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury and ending up at the motor museum near Calne."

Mr Carter said he was hoping for a good turnout, but said numbers were hard to predict.

"We never know how many we’ll get until the day. We’ll probably get 20 at least from the club and perhaps double that from others," he said.

"You don’t have to have a Mini – one of our members is coming in their normal car. We’ve got no objection if people just want to come and see the Minis and join in the run.

"We just get together, have a chat and a laugh and members of other clubs come and join us. It’s all about having fun."
