Chippenham author Sarah Singleton will be signing copies of her latest novel next month.
The former Gazette and Herald reporter will be at Waterstones in the town on Saturday, April 7 from 11am to 1pm.
Dark Storm is her eighth novel for young adults, and is a dark romance set in a contemporary seaside town.
She said: "Supernatural love stories are all the rage at the moment, but I wanted to write something a bit different.
"While the story has plenty of passion, it is also an exploration of life, loss, grief and the nature of love.
"Obviously I hope it gets plenty of readers!"
Dark Storm tells the story of 18-year-old Ellie, who is spending the summer in the house where her mother grew up.
Although it’s been more than a year since her mother died and her father is moving on, Ellie is still struggling.
She joins a local theatre group in a bid to make new friends – but falls in love with a gorgeous, ghostly boy.
Increasingly bewitched she begins to unravel his story. If she loses herself in his past, will she miss out on love in the here and now?
Ms Singleton said: "This is my ninth published novel, the eighth for young adults, but the excitement of creating a novel, seeing it in the bookshops and hearing the response of readers never goes away.
"I feel very lucky."
Her earlier novels include Heretic, Sacrifice, The Amethyst Child and The Stranger.
She also has a short story for adults forthcoming in an anthology called Hauntings and is planning to write another novel for adults next.
