Calne man remanded over rape accusation

A 26-year-old man from Calne has been remanded in custody accused of rape and other offences.
Michael Burgess, of no fixed abode, is also accused of actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
No charges were formally put to him and he did not enter any pleas during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court.
Judge Euan Ambrose adjourned the case until Friday, April 10, and remanded Burgess into custody until then.
