No road is Awful

Just the stupid (I would swear) people using it.

Rush rush rush can wait 2 minutes the world will end.

The road is awful and I have 2 relatives in Clift house one being the lady who was knocked over. There are no pavements outside Clift house at all so the elderly are left with no choice but to cross that road even if they don't need to.

I am sorry for your pain.

But again I think most of the drivers in chippenham as complete ****** and dont bother to look when they are driving. If people drove correctly and at the speed limit then this sort of thing should never had happened.

The amount of time that I have to break hard espically at the junction of Hungerford and sheldon by the Tesco roundabout because please do not slow down on approach.

Again I hope you family member is ok.

Have you driven you along there recently? The road is awful; so full of ruts and pot-holes its virtually impossible to speed along it.

But there is nowhere safe for people to cross the road safely to get in to Clift House.

Hope all involved are making a full recovery.

chipper says "nowhere safe for people to cross the road safely to get in to Clift House". How about using the "back" way on Greenway Lane. A bit safer than Langley Road I'd have thought and you then have pedestrian crossings all the way into town.

This was an 'accident' which means that at least one person probably made a mistake. Not everyone has the perpetual perfection and infallible judgement of some of the contributors to this thread.

Again I say if people were going at a safe speed and also people looked when they crossed the road then accidents would not happen.

If they know a road that you are driving on has a high risk then you should drive more carefull.

I am sure this old person who agian I hope is ok did not jump out into the middle of the road.

Thank you for the well wishes she is critically ill but has a loving family behind her.
The rear entrance via greenway Lane is no better! I go in and out of both entrances and the back entrance has a very bad blind corner and usually even when in a car you have to stick your nose right out before you have any kind of view up the road.

Perhaps the state of the road is more of an issue than any speed involved. If drivers are having to spend too much time looking at the road surface to avoid pot holes then that's less time to look for pedestrians in the road.
Pot holes should not be considered nature's speed bumps as seems to be the way of town councils.

Well all I can hope is that all these comments make wiltsire council sit up and listen.

Come on G&H lets start something here. As they are not paying attention to local people .
