Devizes MP Claire Perry has thanked A-Level photographic students for the stunning picture that graces her Christmas card.
Mrs Perry set the students at Devizes School a competition to provide her with an image she could put on festive greetings she sends to constituents and fellow MPs, including Prime Minister David Cameron and her boss, Defence Secretary Philip Hammond. Mrs Perry is his Parliamentary Private Secretary.
The winner was 17-year-old Lauren Howse, whose delicate close-up of leaves covered in hoar frost was chosen by Mrs Perry. The MP said: “It was such a bright, fresh image that said Christmas to me.”
Lauren said: “I took the picture by the canal. It was something a bit different that appealed to me.”
Mrs Perry also praised the work of runners-up Shannon Jennings, 18, and Ellie O’Shea, 17 and art and photography subject leader Paula Williams.
