BIDDESTONE boss Gary Skidmore has moved to strengthen his squad after Saturday's disappointing defeat at Amesbury.

He has put in seven-day approaches for Corsham Town reserve striker Adam Taylor and Calne Town defender Graham Ford as he bids to guide his side off the bottom of the Screwfix League First Division.

Taylor is on the fringe of the first team at the Southbank after starting the season in prolific form for the reserves, scoring 11 goals in 11 games.

Ford is out of favour at Bremhill View after moving from Corsham last season but would have the experience needed in the heart of Biddestone's defence.

Skidmore said: "I know Graham well and if we could sign him it would allow us to move Ollie McAninch back up front.

"Adam looks like a very good striker and if we could get him it would be a massive boost."

Biddestone entertain Shepton Mallett tomorrow and Skidmore believes it is a must win match for his young side.

He said: "We are at the very bottom of the league but they are only one point ahead of us so it is a game we can't really afford to lose. The biggest problem for us this season has been our failure to raise our game against the lesser sides.

"We play our socks off against the good side but then don't do that in games we should win. We are now telling them that every team is better and if they don't give their all they will get a hammering.

"It is hard because we don't want to ruin their confidence but it has come to a point where we need to stop talking about it and go and prove we can cope in this league."
