Rowde is an ideal spot for new publicans

Bromham residents Wayne and Helen Plummer are the new landlord and landlady of the Cross Keys in nearby Rowde.

The couple were delighted to be offered the tenancy of the pub in the neighbouring village when they approached Devizes brewers Wadworth & Co about a new career.

Mr Plummer said: “We were thrilled when Wadworth offered us the Cross Keys at Rowde. Helen has lived all her life at Bromham and I’ve been here for many years.

“To get a tenancy so close to home is fantastic, particulary as we want to make the Cross Keys into a real community pub and our local connections will be a big help in doing it.”

The pub is next door to the new community shop and the Plummers have plans to work in collaboration with it to create a community hub.
