Heart attack survivor Ady Davies is using his love of science fiction to raise money for charity.

Mr Davies, who had three attacks in a year, is organising a science fiction day in Corsham on April 17.

Mr Davies, who has been organising science fiction days for families since 2008, is raising money for the British Heart Foundation, 16 to 30 PHAB, based in Chippenham and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The 50-year-old, who has three life-size Daleks in his house in Rudloe and a Tardis on his drive said: “I got into doing this when my younger brother gave me a life-size Dalek one year.

“I’m not a die-hard fan it’s just the events make such a difference to charity.”

He added: “For it to really work I need businesses to donate money or raffle prizes. Manor Garage in Box has already covered the costs of hiring Corsham Community Centre for the event while Rudloe Hall Hotel has donated two nights bed and breakfast for four of our celebrity guests.”

As well as the Doctor Who and Star Wars life-size characters, Jeremy Bulloch, who played Boba Fett in Star Wars, and Harry Potter actor, Tony Coburn, who played the young Lucius Malfoy, will be there.

Tickets are available from Automattic Comics in Corsham at £3 for adults and £2 for children. More information via the link below.
