Devizes shop dream comes true

Devizes once again has a fancy dress hire shop after local gran Erica Moffat achieved her life’s ambition.

Mrs Moffat, who lives in the Avenues, Devizes, has taken the first unit at the new development in Snuff Street since the Polly Tea Rooms opened earlier in the year.

Her store, Face Envy, not only offers a face painting service, but can hire all sorts of fancy dress costumes as well as supplying wigs, false beards, props and make-up.

Mrs Moffat, who has two daughters and two grandchildren, said: “I have always been fascinated by dressing up and four years ago I took a course in face painting.

“I got the idea to open a shop, but I thought where am I going to go? Gaigers, the developers, have been fantastically helpful. I wanted to open before Christmas and now here I am.”

Mrs Moffat opened the store last Thursday and got friends and relatives to wear giant Disney cartoon character costumes and parade around the Market Place to publicise the opening.
