Formula One world champion Jenson Button is reportedly looking to buy Robbie Williams's mansion in Compton Bassett, near Calne.
The motor racing star is said to have put in an offer of £6 million for the 18th century pile, according to The Sun.
Williams bought the house for almost £8.5 million a year ago, but is apparently ready to accept a £1 million loss on the property.
A source said: "Jenson was thinking about renting but now wants to buy. It would be perfect for him."
The mansion has seven bedrooms, 71 acres of land, a helicopter hangar, fountains and temples, as well as a racing track for Rage buggies.
Williams is reportedly hoping for a quick sale so that he can spend the winter in Los Angeles with his American girlfriend Ayda Field.
