An ambulance worker had to be cut from the car she was driving after she hit a deer near Lacock on Friday morning.
The crash happened on the A350 near Beanacre shortly after 6am when a deer ran out in front of the ambulance car she was driving.
Fire crews from Melksham and Trowbridge were called to the accident along with a rescue team from Trowbridge.
On arrival the crews discovered that the woman was medically trapped, which means they expected she was suffering from severe injuries and took the decision to cut her free using hydraulic cutting equipment.
A spokesman for the Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “ The woman was cut free from the ambulance car relatively quickly and taken straight to hospital by 7am.
"Although collisions with deer's are quite rare they can be extremely dangerous."
