The Sherston Village website is set for an overhaul after a working group was formed.

The six person team, made up of volunteers from the village, will redesign the mechanics of how the site operates and give it an attractive revamped appearance.

Parish council vice chair Martin Rea said the new site would be accessed by community groups and local businesses.

He said: “These kind of websites need to be updated regularly otherwise they get a bit tired and out of date, which is what happened to out previous one.

“We are looking at a system where all the different community groups can have access to their page and keep it updated with news and upcoming events.

“That will hopefully keep it fresh and relevant.”

The site will also be offered to local firms as a place to advertise. “All businesses in the parish will be able to advertise there for free,” said Mr Rea. “Businesses from outside the parish wishing to advertise will be asked for a small donation.”
