Hotdogs fly to top place at Wootton Bassett

Tails are wagging in Wootton Bassett after four of the town’s dogs broke a 12-year British flyball record.

The Bassett Hotdogs team raced over four hurdles, triggered a box to produce a tennis ball and then ran back to beat the record by just 0.5sec.

Anne Alderman, who set up the group 15 years ago, is thrilled at the success of collies Maisey, Tess and Rupee and Jack Russell cross Lizzie.

She said: “I am so happy – words can’t describe. Our dogs train so hard and this is the best result we could have ever hoped for.”

The dogs train at Breech Lane Equine Centre.
