Police have confirmed that the woman driver who died in the fatal crash on the A4 in Corsham yesterday was the mother of the two children in the car.
The 29-year-old woman from Corsham was driving her two children, one a boy aged six and the second a girl of 18-months-old.
The accident happened yesterday at 8.45am when the woman’s black Land Rover Discovery was in collision with a Biffa lorry before crashing into a stone wall at the junction with the A4 and the B3109 Bradford Road.
A driver just behind the Land Rover was badly shaken by the crash.
The driver from Bradford on Avon said shortly after the accident:"I am still shakeing now.
That was nothing more than a stupid mistake with a horrible end. I feel so sory for all involved especialy thoes young children, I was relieved to see them pulled out alive.
"It was horrible and very upsetting. I watched from the end of the bradford road as the medics and police and fire crews arrived.
"My heart goes out to all involved, and all their family members."
