Devizes School pupil has swine flu

A pupil at Devizes School is off sick with swine flue but the school remains open.

It was revealed today that a pupil at the school, who is connected with someone from Bath Priory School where an earlier case of the disease was diagnosed, has been confirmed as suffering from the virus.

But head teacher Malcolm Irons said it was not necessary to close the schoool.

He said a letter had been sent home to all pupils but the student suffering from the illness was only thought to have a mild case of the infection.

i think its stupid 2 keep the school open. that pupil that has swine flu could of passed it on 2 others in the school. and the only people im thinking of are the year 6's from other schools that have been visiting devizes school. it only takes 1 person 2 get it then it can spread 2 everyone else. it may just be a mild case of it but it can still spread. and if any of you parents out there that read this i hope you do the best thing for your child/children. if they have been in contact with this pupil and they start feeling ill get them 2 the doctors fast.

Well said....my daughter came home today worried as hell as she thinks that she is gonna get swine flu, OK it may only be a mild form of the flu but what the hell it's still Swine Flu, i agree with last poster, the school should be closed early for the holidays i mean, there are only 3 weeks left anyway, give the kids homework assisgnments and close the **** school before everyone in the town gets it, i got young kids aswell as a teenager and i really aint happy about sending my teen back there at the moment withthis hanging over her.

LOL

If you don' want you kids to go to school and the school hasn't closed then keep them home, it really isn't complicated.

This will leave the sensible ones to let their kids go to school with less hassle than usual.
