Corsham licensee is moving to Spain

The Royal Oak in Corsham is up for rent after the Licensee Nick Taylor, who has run the pub for more than ten years decided to move to Spain after seeing the recession come in last year.

He said: “I could see the recession coming last year after the news of Northern Rock and I just thought it’s a good time to for me go.

“I’m 50 next year, my kids are all grown up, I’m single and I have a house paid for over in Spain so I plan to move over there.

“I work 75 hours a week at the pub even with reduced hours. I just need a calmer pace of life.”

He said that despite the poor economic climate a young local couple have shown interest in the Wadworth pub and are considering taking it over.
