One person was taken to hospital with burns following a house fire in Wootton Bassett Road, Swindon this morning.
Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service was called to the mid-terraced property at 7am to deal with a fire in the first floor attic space.
Two appliances from Swindon, one from Westlea, the aerial appliance from Swindon and the control unit from Stratton attended, and firefighters used two hose reel jets and six breathing apparatus wearers to tackle the blaze.
One casualty had already escaped the building before firefighters arrived and was taken to the Great Western Hospital by ambulance.
Neighbouring properties were unaffected by the incident and no evacuation was needed. A salvage operation is now underway, together with fire investigation to establish the cause of the blaze.
