Troubled rocker Pete Doherty poses for a rare picture with his beloved Jaguar - and gets his thumb-uppence over rising fuel prices.
Sitting outside his country home near Marlborough the Babyshambles frontman gave petrol prices - which soared to 129.9p per litre in parts of the UK at the weekend - two thumbs down. At his nearest petrol station Deans in Marlborough the price of petrol is some of the most expensive in the country.
Doherty, 29, spends almost £100 filling up his gas-guzzling 3.6litre XJ6 Sovereign, which does just 20 miles to the gallon.
And he pays another £180-a-year on the ageing motor's road tax, and an estimated £100-per-year on engine oil.
Today a pal revealed Doherty was ''p*ssed'' about the cost of fuel, but said he refuses to buy a more economical car.
She said: ''Pete loves his Jaguar. It's a big, trusty car that Pete has had for a long time.
''However, the rising fuel costs now mean that running it costs so much more than it ever did, and that's p*ssing him off in a big way.
''But Pete isn't really the sort of person you'd expect to drive a hybrid-type car - he's a wild man of rock, after all.''
