Watching her Gladiators debut proved more difficult than Lucy Boggis anticipated on Sunday.
The 19-year-old from Lower Stanton St Quintin, who is Tempest in the new series of the Sky One game show, was surfing in Croyde, Devon, at the weekend.
She, with dad Peter and boyfriend Ant Sawyer, searched the town for a pub with Sky.
Eventually they found one, but were told they didn't put Sky on in the evenings.
But they turned it on specially for her, after she explained she was one of the Spandex-clad Gladiators who take on members of the public in a series of challenges.
"I had to do a few autographs and pictures afterwards," she said.
The athlete took part in Powerball, where Gladiators have to stop contestants getting balls into pots.
But her night ended when she injured herself. "I gave myself delayed concussion and whiplash," she said.
"I made a really big tackle and took the contestant down but they landed on my head."
The rest of the family watched the first show at home but mum Jane is waiting until Sunday at 6pm when Miss Boggis takes centre stage in The Wall.
Miss Boggis goes to London on Tuesday for a start of the show party.
