A police investigation is underway to identify a body of a man found in the Kennet & Avon Canal in Devizes this morning.
The body was found shortly before 9am by a member of the public close to the Caen Hill lock at Marsh Lane near Rowde.
Police have cordoned off the area while they investigate. Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was also called out.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Our investigations are currently ongoing to establish the identity of the person, with a scene in place.
"Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and quote log 88 of today’s date (30/10)."
It is not yet known whether the man's death is as the result of an accident or something more suspicious.
