The Hawk Conservancy Trust wants to get in touch with the person who handed in an injured owl at vets in Pewsey.
The owl is almost fully recovered and ready to be released but it needs to be freed back into the area where it was found.
The hawk trust at Andover is appealing for the person who found the owl to come forward.
On November 24 a member of the public took the injured long-eared owl into Belmont House veterinary surgery on the Salisbury Rd Business Park in Pewsey.
The only information volunteered was that the owl was found "near Pewsey".
The bird was then taken to the Hawk Conservancy Trust to receive the specialist care and attention it needed for it to be rehabilitated back to the wild.
Andy Hinton from the centre said: " After several weeks of treatment the owl is new fully recovered and ready to be returned to its home.
"Unfortunately this is where the trust needs the finder's help.
"The person who kindly took the bird into the vets did not leave any contact details.
"The Trust needs the person to contact them urgently to discover the exact location where the bird was found."
Mr Hinton said long-eared owl habitats were rare and the trust needed to return the bird to the area where it may have an already established territory and perhaps a mate.
The person who found the owl and handed it in to the vets is asked to contact the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover on 01264 773 850 or email info@hawkconservancy.org as soon as possible.
