TISBURY Fire Station is opening its doors to the public this weekend.

The open day tomorrow (Saturday, August 18) will run between 12pm and 4pm, and any money raised will be donated to the Fire Fighters Charity.

There will be a wide range of activities for all ages including learning about the dangers of cooking during a chip pan fire demonstration as well as taking a look around the fire station.

The fire crews will also be conducting some live demonstrations, showcasing how they deal with incidents they face every day including road traffic collisions and rescues from fire.

Watch Manager Matthew Stopps, from Tisbury Fire Station, said: “This is a great way for our local community to find out more about the local fire station.

“There’s even the chance to talk with the crews about what it is like to be an on-call firefighter and sign up to join us.”
