A GROUP of sixth formers returned to their old stomping ground for one final time as they put on a charity gig.

Sheldon School pupils in the band Decent Attempt performed at Groove on the Green on Saturday to raise money for Wiltshire Mind and for the school’s new library before they set off for university in September.

Toby Shirazian said: “It went really well and we had a really good turnout.

“The band played two sets and it was a really nice evening.

“More importantly we raised £500 for the sixth form’s charity this year which is Wiltshire Mind, and £120 for the library.

“We are very happy with the amount raised for really worthy causes that will help many people in the area.”

Head of Sheldon School, Neil Spurdell, said: “We have some fantastic musicians at the school and for many who have just left Sheldon, it was a brilliant way to sign off. We are delighted that we managed to raise a good sum of money, most of it going to support Mind, but some to our library fundraising efforts, and all done through a really fun evening.”
