TRAIN services in Bedwyn and Pewsey will stop from July 16 until August 5 as the next stage of the Newbury electrification work begins.

Bus replacement services will be used during this time at Bedwyn and Pewsey, with buses taking commuters to London Paddington.

One the work is finished, faster hybrid trains running on diesel and electricity will run from Bedwyn to Newbury.

Last month a faster bus service was secured for Bedwyn residents as the rail users group battled to reduce lengthy bus journeys to under two hours each way.

Commuters have been route is the 6.25am departure from Bedwyn, getting into Reading connecting with a 7.45am train to get into Paddington at 8.11am and returning the 6.30pm train from Paddington to Reading and then a bus service to get into Bedwyn at 8.18pm.
