FIRE crews from North Wiltshire tackled two incidents at Chippenham and Royal Wootton Bassett earlier today (Sat, June 23).
In the first incident at 1.51pm, crews from Chippenham, Corsham and a water carrier from Pewsey were called out to a fire involving around 200 square metres of cut grass at Maud’s Heath Causeway in Chippenham.
The crews arrived quickly on scene and extinguished the fire using two hose reel Jets and beaters.
In the second incident at 3.32pm, a crew from Westlea was mobilised to alarms sounding at a commercial property in Whitehill Lane, Royal Wootton Bassett.
The attending appliance arrived quickly on scene and found the cause of the alarm was due to a small fire in an overhead light fitting. They used a CO2 extinguisher to put out the fire.
