MELKSHAM’S very own Mr Christmas, aka Andy Park, has recorded a single to send England off to World Cup soccer success in Russia.
Mr Park, of Primrose Drive, Melksham, is an eccentric who celebrates Christmas every day of the year.
His new single, We’re going to win the World Cup, has already been viewed more than 3, 790 times online and played on radio.
It was written by Keith Burge from Keevil and recorded at Pete Lamb’s studios in Potterne near Devizes.
It features former St Augustine’s Catholic College music teacher Terry Hall.
Mick Jagger tribute act, Mark Smallman, from Littleton Panell, who sings as Mick Jogger, also makes a cameo appearance.
Mr Park’s single has already been played by BBC Radio 2 DJ Johnnie Walker and by BBC Radio Solent.
“Radio 5Live have asked for a copy and I’m aiming to get it played on BBC Radio 1,” said Mr Park.
He’s also received interest from BBC Radio Bristol, Points West, Paul Ross on Talk Radio and United DJs, the radio station run by former BBC Radio 1 DJ Mike Read.
