SAM, the new Shire horse who joined the Wadworth delivery team this year, walked away with two first prizes on his first outing representing the family brewer
Sam, seven, who stands 18.2hh, won the Single Trade Turnout and was then crowned Champion at the Royal Bath & West Show, as well as placing second in the Pairs class with partner Max.
Speaking about the new boy’s success, CEO for Wadworth, the independent family brewer based in Wiltshire, Chris Welham said, “We are so proud of our shire horse team and this is wonderful news. Sam has settled in really well since he joined us and we are all really pleased he has now started his very own rosette collection”.
Wadworth has three shire horses, Max, Archie and Sam who are based at the brewery in Devizes. The public can see them every Thursday morning from 9.30am or during a pre-booked brewery museum tour which can be arranged on www.wadworth.co.uk.
