RESIDENTS at a care home in Chippenham have chosen the names of each floor.

To mark five years since the opening of The Fairways, Malmesbury Road, Mayor of Chippenham Cllr Andy Phillips and his wife Cllr Nina Phillips unveiled plaques revealing the names.

The dementia floor has been named Eagle, and the first floor has been named Condor, after residents chose a golfing theme.

Also to celebrate five years of the home being open, and the 75th birthday of MHA, residents were also treated to cakes and a live performance from The Gershwin Gang.

At the unveiling of the names, Mayor Cllr Phillips, whose Mayoral charity is Dementia Support was joined by residents who live on each floor.

He said: "I think the names are splendid, they have a nice view of a golf course here.

"We were at the opening and I described the home as a splendid example of a good residential home because I think it is one of the best in Chippenham.
