FOLLOWING an altercation between a man and a woman in West Woods near Marlborough, police are appealing for witnesses.
Around 6.30pm on Sunday, May 20, a woman was walking close to the car park on the Lockridge side of the woods when the incident took place.
The man is described as 5ft10, slim and aged between 30 and 40-years-old.
Detective Constable Detective Constable Mark Harris said: "I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around this time and on this date to contact me.
"Perhaps you saw the man and woman in question or perhaps you heard or saw something suspicious.
"This is a popular beauty spot for walkers, runners and cyclists - I am sure someone would have seen something.
"Irrespective of how small or insignificant you think it is - if you saw or heard something that didn't appear right to you, please come forward."
