BOOKWORMS from Charter Primary in Chippenham have picked out books for their brand new library and reading area.
Pupils had fun visiting Waterstone’s in Borough Parade to pick one book each to be put into the new library, thanks to a grant provided by Chippenham Borough Lands Charity.
The centre of the school has been turned into a library, with a comfortable seating area for pupils to sit and enjoy the new books they have chosen.
Lucy Adams, English co-ordinator, said: “All the pupils of Charter Primary School enjoyed having the privilege of choosing one new book to add to our new school library.
“The school is focusing on a library development this year, based on an outdoor woodland theme where the children can relax to read.
“Giving each child the
opportunity to choose a book really helps to engage them in this and we were delighted to take the children to the book store, to soak up the
atmosphere and handle the books.
“We are very grateful.”
