RACEHORSE Cole Harden has retired from racing due to injury and joined the team at Greatwood Charity.

Winner of 6 races from 24, including the 2015 Ladbrokes World Hurdle, Cole Harden will now enjoy his retirement at the Marlborough based charity who was the first equine welfare organisation in the UK to use former racehorses to educate children, young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) through equine assisted learning.

Cole Harden’s owners said: “We are very happy that we have found such a good home for Cole. He was such a great servant to us and gave us so many happy memories throughout his racing career, the highlight being of course 2015 Cheltenham Festival. We will now enjoy visiting Cole at Greatwood, where we know he will be cared for fantastically well.”

Cole’s former trainer, Warren Greatrex, commented: "What can I say about Cole Harden? He has been an absolute star for the yard and put my career on the map. A very tough and consistent horse with a huge will to win. I’m really glad that he has gone to such a great home, where he will be looked after brilliantly in his retirement."
