SIXTH formers from Devizes School put on the glitz on Friday evening as they said goodbye to their school days at a farewell prom.

The teenagers dressed to impress for the evening of fun in the sun at Cleeve House, Seend, near Devizes.

Vice principal Sue Marshall said: "What a stunning year group of young adults these sixth form students are, we have been so lucky to have them as part of Devizes Sixth Form for the last two years.

"They looked fantastic on Friday evening and have been incredibly hard working and superb ambassadors for the school. We are so proud of everything they have achieved in their time here and we have no doubt they will reap the awards in August and ensure Devizes sixth form remains one of the highest performing sixth forms in the county of Wiltshire.

"We wish them every success over the coming few weeks and on results day and wish them every success in the future. Good luck to the class of 2018."

Headteacher Phil Bevan and deputy head of sixth form Martin Maxwell were also among the guests helping the teenagers celebrate. Head of sixth form Clare Dale was unable to attend because of ill health but she sent a message of congratulations that was read out.

The boys looked super smart in suits while the girls dressed to impress in formal dresses.

Pupils from Year 11 will have their big night on June 22 at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon when it is likely their will vye for the most unusual form of transport. In the past military vehicles, tractors and sports cars have been used along with a fleet of super sized limos.
